Join us October 10th for Blessing of the Animals!
In recognition of Saint Francis of Assisi, on Sunday October 10, 2021, we will have the annual Blessing of the Animals. The blessing will be included in the liturgy of the day. Pet parents are encouraged to bring their pet(s) to the worship for a special blessing. Additionally, a drive through blessing for those unable to attend the worship service will be held in front of the church from 11:15am to 12:00 noon. This will be a great time to bring your dog, cat, bird, or maybe even a piggy to be blessed. We will have treats for the animals as well as a blessing for each of your beloved “family members”. Our pets are a part of God’s creation and another sign of His love for us. So come and bring your pet for this annual blessing.

The month of June was chosen for LGBT Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, many pride events are held during this month to recognize the impact LGBT people have had in the world. We at Christ Lutheran participate in The Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Program. Our congregation has made a public commitment to welcome, include and celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) people. With that said, of course we were at Pride Festival!
God's Work, Our Hands.
September 12 – “God’s Work. Our Hands” Sunday. God’s Work, Our Hands is an ELCA program held every September to foster the sharing of God’s blessings as we reach out in prayer and generosity to those in need. On this Sunday in particular, we mark in our hearts and actions the “work” of God, which continues within the world God created, particularly as God’s work is present and enabled in the ministry to which we are called. Serving one another with the gifts that we have been given. Sharing & Caring with others the blessings our Lord has provided for all.
This year we are collecting gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories to be donated to different organizations for distribution. There is also a need for business attire to aid those who may be going on job interviews or starting new jobs. You may bring these articles in on any prior Sunday, when you come to church or drop them off at the church office. (Please, call to be sure that someone is there to receive them.) We will also be accepting cash, so that we can purchase new socks and/or underwear for those in need.
Then on September 12, following worship, There will be a drive through opportunity for people to drop off donations. We will post on our website, and include in our weekly emails, the hours for the drive-thru. During that time, we will gather to sort and package the clothing items, so they may be distributed to appropriate agencies. We are in need of volunteers to accept the donations and assist with sorting.
- drop off clothing any Sunday until Sept. 12 when you come to worship
- drop off clothing at church office (call 954-564-7673 to make sure someone is in office to receive your donation)
- drive-thru clothing donation: Sunday, Sept. 12, 11:15am - 12:15pm

We love our community and church!
This church is so dedicated to their mission. A group of people that are so accepting and committed to teaching the word of the Lord. It's a smaller more intimate congregation so there is attention to each and every visitor, member and volunteer.
Come worship with us! We are located just west of Oakland Park Blvd and Federal highway on the north side of the road.
